Photo: Comstock Hall
The main entrance of Comstock Hall is on Garden Ave., facing the lot between Barton and the Conference Center. There is a second entrance from the Biological Sciences Quadrangle. Imitating its neighbor to the north, Corson/Mudd Hall, Comstock is built of purplish-red brick (browner than Corson/Mudd) and has deeply set rectangular, strip windows of brown glass and dark brown metal frames. Unlike Corson/Mudd, the windows tend to alternate long and short, the rhythms of the masses are more broken and irregular than Corson/Mudd as well. A tall windowless mass in brick with vertical raised panels sits setback atop a lower, horizontal base.
