Photo: Hughes Hall
Hughes Hall extends west from the southwest corner of Myron Taylor Hall. The connecting segment is three stories with a loggia on the first floor. The rectangular piers of the loggia are in gray-brown Ithaca stone with limestone capitals. The collegiate Gothic style of Hughes is simpler than that of Myron Taylor, lacking ornamentation and full limestone window frames. The walls are in gray-brown Ithaca stone, the metal casement windows have limestone sills, and the high-pitched roof punctuated by dormers is in gray and purple slate. The addition of Hughes Hall residential and dining facilities made the Law School into a residential college.
