  • Directs the Campus Planning Office and the physical planning functions at the University.
  • Oversees university-wide master plan and master planning associated with precincts and colleges and landscape, transportation and utilities systems.
  • Leads capital project planning by providing site selection recommendations and site development guidelines.
  • Establishes vision and is an advocate for planning excellence.
  • Engages campus constituents in developing planning frameworks, creating planning initiatives, building stakeholder teams, and gaining consensus on planning issues.
  • Supports capital plan execution led by the University Architect.
  • Provides requisite planning input to administration, campus constituencies and others by presenting issues and providing appropriate solutions.
  • Represents the university on campus planning strategies and serves as community liason on planning related issues.

  • Creates and maintain a long-range campus landscape plan and landscape guidelines for projects (Campus Landscape Notebook) and campus-wide development.
  • Establishes landscape objectives and suggests alternatives to accomplish objectives.
  • Provide and maintain in a current state, drawings and documents that communicate landscape plans or guidelines.
  • Evaluates natural and man-made campus landscape systems, visual features.
  • Coordinates with related planning documents.
  • Coordinates communication among other landscape professionals on campus.
  • Site design and landscape reviews for individual projects, including buildings, transportation and utilities.
  • Establishes and maintains standards for site design and landscape review to ensure compliance with university standards.

  • Leads transportation planning initiatives both on-campus and through joint initiatives with the county and local municipalities. 
  • Supports the capital planning for the Transportation Department, as well as the transportation related aspects for capital projects at the university.
  • Ensures that land use planning and transportation planning are coordinated from the outset. Also ensures the coordination of transportation initiatives with landscape and utilities.
  • Supports the university's reporting on its Parking Inventory and its annual reporting to the City.
  • Represents both the Director of Transportation and the University Planner on planning and transportation issues.
  • Also supports Campus Planning and Transportation offices with outreach to campus, municipal and county entities.

  • Responsible for the management of the Planning Office database and archives, as well as the Campus Real Estate land database.
  • One of three endowed GIS administrators on the campus.
  • Provides GIS training and support to registered users in Facilities Services as well as other campus constituents. Creates and delivers custom GIS analyses to campus-wide clients, such as Campus Police, Real Estate, EH&S, etc.
  • Coordinates and maintains the centralized campus mapping function, to support CIT, Publications and Marketing, Transportation and Mail Services and others.
  • Is currently developing an interactive campus map, in collaboration with CIT and the Office the Director of Web Communications.
