Carpenter Hall is a two-story building with a flat roof. It occupies the northeast corner of the Engineering Quadrangle. The first story is a loggia, partly blind and partly open, with large glass as infill between the rectangular piers of gray-brown Ithaca stone. The Ithaca stone piers continue through the second floor, where the infill becomes limestone panels with strip windows framed in aluminum.
